Do you guys like Geico? Progressive? Or someone else?
Just bought a new Z28 and thinking about switching insurance company.
I will have a total of 4 vehicles listed on this policy after I got the Z28, and I have been playing around with different online quotes. Geico's quote was surprisingly good, with all the cars I have and very similar coverage, I should be able to save about 35% compared to Progressive. The reason I picked Progressive in the first place is that some close friends of mine have great experience with Progressive after their cars were totaled, and their price was great last year compared to some other insurance companies. However, I do want to get some feedback from you guys who filed claims with Geico before and see how good they are with paying claims... Or maybe there is some other insurance provider that you recommend? (Note: While I love to go USAA, I do not qualify) |

I've been with USAA for 8 years, love em. But, since you don't qualify, I totalled my Camaro in 2000, had progressive; was a fantastic experience.
Can't speak for Geico. |

Everyone loves their insurance company until they get a bad adjuster, or until they find someone offering coverage for cheaper.
That said, I've had good experiences with State Farm for a few years now. They aren't always the cheapest. Proof is in the pudding...read your policy to see what's covered and how. They're not all the same. |

GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company) is basically a spin off from USAA. It was started by several individuals that originally worked at USAA and were looking to insure more than just military officers (which at that time was all they would allow). When I had to file a claim against another driver that was insured with GEICO, the service was good.
My first choice would be USAA but since that's not an option for you, I would go for the next best thing..., GEICO.

I had Geico, never had a claim or ticket, but they jacked my policy up when was time to renew, so I switch to Progressive, 3 years now.

I have State Farm and do a rate comparison every now and then... no one can even come close to the rate SF gives me. Of course, I've been with them since 1980 and have had 2 claims (last one in 1990), so...

I use Geico. Have three vehicles with full coverage. Haven't needed to file any claims, so I can't speak of that. I use to have State Farm, but they cancelled me for no reason. Never filed a claim with them either. Prior to that, I had Liberty Mutual. Their claim service is excellent, but they jacked up their rates.

Oh, there's a reason. They don't just give up premium payments from customers for "no reason". Did you ask your agent why they were dropping you? He knows - I assure you.

Geico was about the same cost as Progressive when we shopped for new insurance earlier this year (previously with Met Life, auto and home). We went with Progressive and have low comprehensive ($100) deductible, figuring anything that happens needing a claim would be no fault/their fault. Damage from hitting a deer on Christmas is only going to cost me $100 ($3900 estimate), with 30 days rental (up to $40 /day). We have two cars and a modest home on the same policy for $124 /month. Both turning 40 this coming year.
Regarding two claims we've had to file with Progressive (neither our fault), they have been quick to get the repairs done and at full cost, no issues. |

Ive had geico ever since i started driving. when I purchased my SS, I called all state and progressive, and they were quoting me 2x the premium that geico quoted me. so far service has been fine. Im one of those boring drivers, so no claims. I havent gotten a rate increase either.

I currently have progressive but they are charging WAY too much. I did a quote a couple nights ago with Geico and was quoted almost 60 less than what I pay with progressive. I will probably switch soon.
