2010 ss 2500-3000k rpm note sounds horrible... suggestions?

2010 ss camaro m6.. cai, udp, ngk plugs, 160 degree thermostat, 1 3/4" long tubes no cats, no resonators, 3 inch into a x pipe, into magnaflow and 4 inch tips. Why do i have a raspy fart can sounding exhaust note between 2500 and 3k rpm? Is it because I don't have the cats? I had absolutely no crack in my ls2 g to with the same setup. What's the deal? Is it the x pipe or the 1 3/4 headers? I'm lost I've changed the set up 3 times now with differemy mufflers and set ups but with no luck I can't get rid of it. It sounds like a card deck being shuffled after 3k or a not so hard launch it sounds great. But if I go wot it sounds like shit... help me out. Thanks
