It happens on mine too...It's a soft backfire and I asked my dealer about it and he said it's normal on manual cars like this and not to worry

I agree...It's the sound of awesomeness for sure! haha

Completely normal for an LSX type engine.
My Corvette is tuned perfectly and it makes the same sound....I love it!! Technically, when you're not on the gas...you're not adding any to the combustion chamber...so I don't think the sound you are hearing is costing you any money.

No disrespect taken, but yes it is normal. Most powerful cars do it ranging from my current car (Cobalt SS/SC) to ferraris. With less restrictive exhausts backfire is even more common...thats why you see flames shooting out of F1s exhaust tips lol

Doesn't even have to be a powerful car, my 4 banger S10 does this too and it's stock except a drop in K&N.

That's the sound of your car picking off Mustangs from the rear gunner position.

This is THE EPIC post of the thread so far!

I LOVE the popping, my 2.2L S-10 does it as well, just not as pronounced as the 'maro.

Well this is good to know! I also thought something was wrong. Guess I can't wait to hear it once BMC installs my exhaust.

It will be a lot more noticable with the new exhaust. It was basically undetectable on my C6 until I put the Borla exhaust on it. Then it was really noticable. On the Camaro as the miles add up the sound increses and it is really sounding good now. 2200 miles. Still too quiet but I will take care of that soon enough.
