Bike rack or roof rack?

Well I know this may be looked down upon, but has anyone tried putting a bike rack on the trunk? (saris bones 2) I am trying to find a way to transport my mountain bike occasionally and the only other option would be a universal roof rack. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking at this forum for a while, and have already found a lot of useful info!

yes i have searched, but didn't come up with much.

I agree, I don't want to but the only time it would ever be on is to and from the trail.

You might have to hit the local bike shop. I guarantee you they carry something. Most of us here will have nightmares about this thread.

Exactly, its just a car. I had a roof rack on my BMW which I traded for this, and it was fine.

Here's one for ya http://www.autoanything.com/towing/75A3957A0A0.aspx

Then you can get the rack that connects to the hitch and easily remove when not is use!!

Neither. Disassemble them, put them in the trunk, then reassemble at the destination.
