So who has a GTR??

Any opinions from owners or enthusiasts of Godzilla? How does it compare to sitting in your Camaro. I am waiting for the Zl1, but if I can find a reasonably priced GTR (2010 or 2011) I would jump on it.

The GTR is a totally different animal than any Camaro, including the ZL1. If you want serious performance there isn't much that can hang with a GTR.

Godzilla and the GTR are 2 completely different things. Godzilla is a GT-R skyline that was imported by motorex.

GTR actually stands for NNT which means needs new transmission.

Nissan decided to keep the same transmission system in their GTR, and by system I mean have it not be a seperate system from the other components which leads to common transmission failures.

Other than that, it's a beaut.

I thought GTR stood for Get Transmission Replaced.

No, Godzilla is the nickname for the GTR, not a reference to a specific one.

If you want a GTR, get a 2012. The one's before that have tranny issues, no launch control and crap like that. Of course, if you can get a 2012 (around 90 K) you can probably afford a 911 Turbo S (around 150 K) so do the right thing, and get yourself a new 911 Turbo S. Otherwise, I'll take a ZL1 instead of a '10 or '11 GTR.

The GTR is an awesome car, but the car drives you - you don't drive the car. Any knucklehead can just mash the gas and get consistent 1/4 mile times because the computer does the driving for you. Why not just buy a PS3? Then you can drive any car like a maniac and you can press "reset" if you crash.

I want to *drive* my performance car, with all it's rawness. A computerized driven car is a fake ego boost.

*cough* Camaro Launch Control *cough*

I could only dream to drive a GTR one day and for the price, it's hard to beat. But if I had a little more money, I'd just get a Bentley or some other brand that doesn't also sell cars for $10,000... Just saying.

Dont hate on the GTR, technology is meant to move humanity forward in life, making it easier and more controllable, and that's exactly why the GTR has ridiculous performance numbers. I'd take one any day.......if I could afford the maintenance. Tires, OIL-CHANGE, ...potential transmission issues? Better have all of that covered, I don't care how "brand new" it is.

But thank God we have them. There are too many people out there now with 400-hp cars that have no idea how to drive them without the nannies. There'd be wrecks every time it rained.

I personally don't use the nannies, but I don't want a guy fishtailing into me either.
