I have Pedders Xa Coilovers, Pfadt Solid Rear Subframe Bushings and BMR Trailing Arms on my Camaro. Tires (Drag Radials or Slicks) will help the most with Wheel Hop..

What is your plan with the car? Daily driver, street/strip, periodic AutoX? What potential horsepower level could this car see in the future? You mentioned that you have wheelhop problems. The cure for this is trailing arms and rear cradle bushings. Their may be other recommended products depending on how you answer the above questions.

Get ready for at least 4 answers. All are great companies with excellent products and customer service. Pedders, PFADT (which I own), BMR, Hotchkis, all have complete 5th gen systems

If you're specifically looking to cure wheel hop there are a couple parts that will make a really huge difference in the car. Specifically replacing the factory Rear Trailing Arms and Toe Control Rods with pieces that are stiffer and lighter to prevent deflection under hard accelercation, as well as moving to Solid Rear Subframe Mounts to prevent movement between the chassis and the subframe. With both of those modifications under your belt the rear end of your Camaro will be much more planted while accelerating hard.
On the other hand if you're looking for a complete suspension upgrade there are other items which will not only help your car put power down, but make the car much more fun to drive as well! Sway bars and drop springs will make a really huge difference in the attitude of the car, and make the car much more fun to drive. It really is amazing what a couple small modifications will do to these cars. Our priorities have always been to design the strongest and lightest parts available for your Camaro. Our dedicated engineering staff strives to build the best parts available through Computer Aided Design as well as on track testing of all of our parts. Check out the change in balance before and after just a sway bar change in this video below. Also be sure to check out the reduction in subframe movement when switching out the soft factory subframe mounts and moving to our solid aluminum pieces: |

I run a combination of Pedders and PFADT. (see sig)..
Holy crap is the car an animal now... We have a lot of clover leafs near me, so I took a few of them last night and compared to how they felt when I was OEM and then with just PFADT Trailing/Solid Subframes.. The car just turned in to the curves, held the ground and showed no signs of instability.. It felt like the car wanted more speed from me, but it was dark and wasn't safe to go faster.. I can imagine my trip to Road America in April is going to be a ton of fun. I really feel the Camaro should have had this setup as a factory option.. This thing is just crazy handling now.. Love it... |
