I love the look of fresh tires. The RE-71R should be significantly better than R888. The RE-71R likes a bit more tire pressure when you test them.

Seams a little narrow for a oem 11" ZL1 rim and leaving tread width on the table-regardless of how sticky. Please report back how well they work cold /first round. Last edited by HRD_WRK; 08-11-2016 at 08:38 PM. |

We are running the 285's 71r's on 19's and love them, they really let you overdrive the car, late brake and mat the throttle early out of corners, it was really fun getting to drive the 1LE with real grip. We had run through 2 sets of G2's and a set of BFG rivals on the 20's before bitting the bullet on the 19's

I had looked at those rims with A6s, but need 200TW. I picked up some ZL1 rims from a friend after fitment testing them with my suspension. Have clearance for 305s front for sure but 295 would fit best without flares. Wanted more than 285 for rear for more torque , but better tread than MPSS. The tire needs to grip at lower temps on short tight Autox in spring / fall. Seems most of the others need some heat vs the RE71R. Last edited by HRD_WRK; 08-11-2016 at 08:42 PM. |

We call these "cheater" tires in the 200 TW class. They wear just like a set of Hoosier A7s and are not that great for our heavier cars (so I've heard).
I'd be interested in trying out a set too once the larger 20" sizes come out.

RE-71R tires like higher tire pressures on heavier cars. I usually run 32/33 hot for the RS3. I'd recommend 35-40 hot for RE-71R.

Squared TSW Nurgburgring 20x10 (+35). I have a SM class 2010 SS. If there's a 305 or 315, I'd run them staggered using my street CCWs. Can't get enough traction coming out of corners for point and shoot. Car corner weighed at 4350 w/driver and 3/4 tank gas ~ 52:48 if I recall correctly. I drive to venues on the wheels, ~ 5 miles.

I just burned through a set of 285/35R-19 RE-71Rs on my 19x10 front 19x11 rear MRR FS01 wheels. They lasted about 60 autocross runs. INCREDIBLE tire, instantly shaved 1.5 to 2 seconds off my regular times. Car runs CAM-C class.
I'm definitely going to purchase another set. With the new sizes being released, I'm torn whether to run a square 305/30R-19 or a staggered 285/35R-19 front 305/30R-19 rear. I'd love to run a square 305/30R-19 however I'm worried about clearance on turn-in. These Bridgestones run very wide. At the risk of thread-jacking, can anyone with a similar setup chime in? I've heard a staggered setup isn't always ideal for autocross. |

during those 60 passes on the tires did you periodically rotate them side to side. Did you remove the tires and remount them front to back since you're staggered. what kind of tire pressures were you running hot. did you run them hard on cooler track days? what's your thoughts on its colder tread traction? if you are looking for comments regarding the 305 ties for similar cars I would think you would need to post your front suspension parts and alignment info. Thanks. Tim |

As far as pressures, I was running them between 30 and 32 PSI in the front and between 28 and 30 PSI in the rear, depending on temperature/etc. Anything higher and I was having trouble holding traction. I ran them REALLY hard. Although they like a little bit of heat, you can run them cold and still find grip. Very forgiving tire. I sprayed them down every run after the 2nd or 3rd run each event. I'm admittedly very under-prepared for CAM-C. Up front I'm running stock shocks with BMR 1.25" lowering springs and BMR sway bar. I have about -1.5 degrees camber dialed in up front, no toe. |

Originally street mod intent turned SCCA. Radiator, KB 2.8, solid swaybars, suspensions upgrades, JL triple stealth sub, satellites and amps, ~ 30-40lbs of dynamat all over, tank plates, harness bar, front splitter, ACS spoiler/wicker, etc. And... driver is 200lbs. Too hard to pull out sub and demishing returns to trim 40-80lbs on my part time DD car.
Don't want to re-do suspension with lighter weight alum parts at >$2k. I may as well strip the car. Before I do that, I should sell and get a 6th gen instead. Easier. My car noticably pushes more than a friend's turbo v6 5th gen. He just went to 18" A-7s and car is a different animal. I'm stuck on 20" unless I trailer down dedicated wheels. I know I'm not as competitive, but it's still fun to drive this beast. I may get away with 27" DIA 19x10.5 wheels, but will need ramps at my driveway. |

305/30/19 square will be fine. Try playing with a wheel and tire calculator if you are worried. Here is a known aggressive setup that works: 18x12 ET30 front and back + 30mm spacer in the front 335/30/18 Rival S tires Based on this pioneer (Cornercarver). He got to his specs by comparing backspacing with the Z/28 wheels. Backspacing specs that JPSS perfected before the Z/28 came out: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=20 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=125 I'm going to run 305/30/19 on 19x10 ET16 in the front. This is how it compares: https://www.rimsntires.com/specspro....inite:%20Front I'm going to run 305/30/19 on 19x11 ET36 in the rear.
