I'm hoping my car will be somewhere near that mark when it's done. Sounds like a blast to drive.

Made it to the track last night with high hopes of getting a low 10 second pass. With the slicks and skinnys bolted on, I was ready! The burn out went good, staged the car and waited for the green. On the last yellow, I left at 5000rpm, and 1st gear pulled strong. I shifted into second still pulling hard, third gear pulled hard as well, and at 127mph, I was going to shift into 4th, and NOTHING!! Tried several times to get it into 4th with the same results. So at the 800' mark, it was like neutral, so I ended up coasting through the lights at a 11.30 @ 110mph. I collected my slip, and then noticed that there was a ticking sound coming from the trans area. I think the added power ate the throw out bearing. Push in the clutch, and the sound goes away. Let out the clutch in neutral and in gear, the sound appears. The 60' wasn't that great either at a 1.89, as I had a little tire spin. Sadly, I parked the car by the trailer, and tried to enjoyed the night of racing. With the Wednesday night crowd, my 11.30 ended up being the second quickest time of the night!!
The Corvette I had next to me ran a 12.20 @ 122mph, and I still beat him. We both ran 115mph at the 1000' mark, but I had him covered by a ton. Now have to wait to get it fixed. Oh the agony!!! |

Sounds like a beast...Where exactly did you race last night in California? I would like to race as well.

Bummer, I'm still wondering what brand of clutch you have in there. I understand completely. Can't wait to see what it does when it all goes right.

Congrats on the car! We need to get together, I had no idea their was another high power ZL1 near me, I'm a little more than an hour south of you in Turlock. Sacramento would be my home track also, let me know next time your going & I'll meet you there. I'm driving my ZL1 at Shift Sector next weekend. You going by any chance?

The build thread is on the sponsors build page under ADM Twin Turbo ZL1. I took it to The Texas Mile last October, it went 201.9, its still the only ZL1 to break 200mph in a standing mile. I'm taking it out to Camarofest also. Short breakdown is Twin Turbo, LSX block, Trick Flow 255's, Lingenfelter intercooled intake, PCS boost controller, engine bay is all stainless hardlined with a full wire tuck, fuse box relocated.
