Hey guys, I was the one who volunteered the car. I never really felt like the car had a problem shifting, besides 1st to 2nd wasn't always super smooth. This is the only stick shift I've ever driven so when I read this I thought that feeling from first to second was the problem. Michael drove the car and said there wasn't really a problem and that if he can make a part it would be a $30-$40 part, but you would most likely need to drop the whole tranny and it wouldn't really make sense.

Sorry for raising this thread from the dead. I got deployed last summer. So far I've been in contact with MTEC, and they said that the springs should work. I also don't have my camaro anymore so I would be more than happy to test this for you guys. I'm going to ask one of the members in my car club if they want to test the, out. I'll keep you guys posted.

So a member purchased his set. MTEC told us so long the springs aren't damaged, we could return them. I'll keep you guys updated.

Keep us posted on your progress and maybe snap a few pictures of the install. In the AY6 drawings I have seen the 2nd detent spring is internal to the transmission and not on the passenger side as shown in the MTEC videos I saw online. If just installing the 1st spring helps reduce the shifter bind then it might be worth it.

Good luck!
