If the rims are the ones in your sig, that is likely a large part of the reason you lost to the SS.

Ah...totally missed that lol

From what I can tell the geovannis kilis wheels your running look to be around 3 lbs heavier per wheel in the front and about 4 lbs heavier per wheel in the back than stock SS rims. Not huge, but definitely will cost precious time.

It's not the fastest run but he's running in south texas. It is HOT here. It's like living in an oven lol. I am about 2 hours from where he ran and it's 105.. in the shade. The car definitely has some in it with the 60 ft. I agree, if the v8 ran 13.6 and he ran a 13.8, I don't think that's that bad. But we have to see the v8 slip too in case he was slipping and sliding as well.

FI does get affected by DA. Of course not as much as NA but yes it does. It's nitrous that basically lives in it's own little bubble and doesn't get affected as much.

Erik, if you're up to it and not afraid, I've got some 18" drag radials coming in for my car. I'll lend em to you so you can make a few passes and see what the car can really do.

I definitely agree with you, a 13.8 is way slow for FI. I ran a 14.1 NA but in really cold weather. I imagine I'd run a 14.5 now in this blistering heat.

I think there's still a lot there though

It was my driving that cost the Time and my wheels its not the car the power is there is was just me that couldn't put it down right Nolan I would love to try those radials see how that goes my fastest NA time was 14.5 so going to 13.8 is decent.

To give reference, I'm in Houston where it feels like a complete swamp in the summer, with temps 90-100+ and humidity well over 70% DA typically 1,500-1,800. Back when I was drag racing the car it was running 13.4 in the summer. I was running 20" wheels as well, 60' was typically 1.9-2.0. No idea what I dynoed though.

Where in texas are you?

I would say it's probably the wheels/tires and track prep (given the SS run).

Sent from my SAMSUNG Galaxy S III using telekinesis.

Alright, I should be getting new tires for them pretty soon so traction shouldn't be that big of an issue after that. We will throw them on your car and see what you can do with them.

Forgive me if I sound sceptical, but the next best on our fast list is 3 tenths higher than that, which is a considerable difference.

You have the power, no doubt. Is it a LFX or LLT? And manual or auto trans? The wheels/tires are also taller making it essentially a taller gear ratio hurting it.

I ask about the LLT vs LFX due to the LFX throttle not opening all the way on the hit until a certain MPH is reached....and the trans for tips if it is a manual, there are some good "how to" sites to help reduce ETR with a manual through launching techniques and shifting (search "Ranger drag racing" ) for one of the best.

So, several tips we could give with more info on the car, etc.

Also, stock mufflers weigh a ton as well. every 100#'s you can reduce results in app a tenth reduction in 1/4 mile ET's.

You don't need more power, just fine tune the combo and I expect you will beating most V8 bolt on cars of all makes.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think a 103 trap is way low for a S/C V6? Assuming the SS was a L99, then I would expect it to trap around 108-109 with just a CAI, which it did. I would think his car would trap 110+.

That's him! I just left him a message that we need to see time slips as well. Thx.

On the MPH, if it is a LFX then the tune portion you were fighting also of the throttle not opening all the way until reaching a certain MPH may be hurting both ET and MPH. Need more info to help IBM kick more V8 butt!
