You said Mopar hasn't made a good car since the 60's. Which I would assume you mean Chrysler since Mopar has never build a car. That's Chryslers OEM parts division. Anyhow, Chrysler makes a lot a good cars worth owning these days. They build one of the best trucks right now. The 300, charger, and challenger are all good cars, the Dodge Dart has been a hit and Jeeps sell like hot cakes. To say they haven't made a good car since the sixties is just plain false.

+1

Owning both cars which for me was a '10 SRT8 I traded it in for a 2SS and then eventually a ZL1.

The two cars are not in the same league with each other. If you are a mopar fan then I'd say to wait for a year or so to see if Chrysler tries to enter the 600 hp club with a response to Chevy and Ford.

ZL1 is the obvious choice on this one. Great comparison though. Two high quality fast machines. The Challenger is the better cruiser, more comfortable, will turn just as many heads and is brutally fast in the automatic form at any drag strip or stop light encounter. It will surprise more than it's fair share of higher hp cars. It's capable of 12:20s in the 1/4 and 180+ mph top-end stock. But if given the choice I would take the ZL1 automatic, atleast until SRT releases the SC 6.2 motor.

You didn't say that in your first post, but Okay, I'll play along. The Challenger is the closet thing to a muscle car of the current three. Just because they aren't the fastest doesn't mean they aren't good cars. Quality wise they are just as good as the Camaro or Mustang, Looks wise (which is very subjective), they are the meanest looking, the interiors in the the 11 and up SRT8's are very nice. They also handle a lot better than previous designs with the new suspension system and the bilstein adjustable shocks. Once again to say they haven't made a good "muscle car" since the 60's would be false. Like I said in another post, there would be one sitting in my driveway over my ZL1 if they were on par with Chevy in the motor department. It looks like that is going to happen so I'm sure I'll have one in the next couple of years. It's okay that you don't like them and you're a Chevy man, but to make inaccurate statements that with no basis just makes you like bad.

Apparently you don't understand the concept of a "forum". You've made your point, time to move forward.

kinda silly to post this on a camaro forum. but the ZL1 is better regardless, and if people on the challenger forums are telling you that the srt8 is better then they are just plain biased. in every area the zl1 has the upper hand, unless you are talking styling, then that comes down to personal preference.

Traded a '12 SRT8 Challenger in on my '13 ZL1.

And I'm happy with the decision.
