Any idea? I know a lot of you have pre-ordered...Anyone know when there willl be some on lots to test drive?
I see a lot of u have ordered from classic...great dealership btw. I bought my 00 SS there...
Wife wants a 5th gen 2SS...we want to test drive first though...

Test drive probably September, October.

I should get mine in about 2-3 weeks.

well i just ordered mine on 04/14/09 and my dealer told me I wouldn't recieve it until December 2009-January 2010. So i'm not really sure why they would be on the lots before then.... Unless special order are being stagered with production cars specifiacally made for lots, which to me would be pretty stupid....

There are some dealers that did not do preorders but will still be getting cars. You might be able to take one of those out. Also, each dealer is getting a "freebie" or two and might get a 2SS for that.

and when i bought my 2000 SS i remember there being several people upset that ordered a car and would see the exact car they ordered sitting on lots for sale while their ordered car wasn't delivered for weeks/months later. so I think they do stager ordered cars w/ regular production...unless GM has changed things for the new camaro...since it is a new release also.

Really? Damn that sucks. Seems wrong to me though. I figured they would be able to fill all orders and still make enough cars to sit some on the lots by end of the year....
I mean, they make at least 200 a day right? I do not think at this point they are getting more than 200 orders a day, but maybe I could be wrong. I wonder how many they had on order before production even started.... I wonder if they have even caught up with that list yet. hmmm. I plan to order one here soon.

I think there were 14,000+ Pre orders.

Yeah it does kinda suck, but it gives me time to sell my 09 Lancer. I know I just purchased a car!!! Its ok though, what I owe is already less then what its worth.

I ordered mine from Leson chev in Gretna, LA, only $500 down and I paid sticker. Didn't seem that bad to me so I took it.

They just quoted me 8-10 weeks on the phone, I spoke with GM marketing in Texas. Generally its actually 6-8 weeks but they are re-inspecting the cars so that will slow down delivery. She guessed 8-10 weeks was more reasonable but they have not given her what the exact inspection delay is.
