Two 2013 1LEs and very different clutch feel
Ok guys, anyone aware of any production changes in clutch pedal within the MY13 ?
I bought one built in Feb 13 and drove it for 1500 miles over 6 months. Test drove another new 13 today with 79 miles built in June 13 and the clutch felt very different. Basically the clutch pedal had to travel what felt like another 2-3 inches to engage. RPMs flared while waiting for the clutch to bite. I met with their lead mechanic to see if it needed adjustment, but he explained there is no adjustment to it. I recall some members talking about how different their SS felt compared to a 1LE. I can't help but wonder if different components were used throughout the MY. Anyone have insight to possible differences? |

I don't have anything to compare it to but my 2013 1LE built in May feels like the clutch engages high up on the pedal release. I had a 2002 Corvette Z06 that felt the same way.

Mine is high as well. Third has a tendency to grind at high RPM shifts though.

Mines fairly high to I guess. Been a while since I drove stick in a car. Clutch travel is similar to my semi's clutch pedal.
Sent from the road.

Mine is very low. The car will try to move almost as soon as you start releasing the clutch.

My clutch is also pretty high up, it threw me off the first few times I drove it

Mine catches very high, almost near the end of the pedal.

Forgive my ignorance - by high you mean closer to foot off the pedal or closer to the floor? I can say I really prefer biting closer to the floor like my Feb car.
Anyone have an idea why some would be so different, and is there anything practical that can be done to change it? |

That could mean that the clutch is NOT fully disengaging when you depress the pedal. That is not good.

You may be right. But I think its more about my timing and shifting properly without rushing it. I'm talking about really quick shifts. I have a tendency to shift somewhat quick during daily driving. So when pushing it harder, I just tend to do everything a little too quick. But I've been doing better and practicing more so the issue doesn't come up as often. If the issue gets any worse, I will get it checked out. Thanks for the info!

Oh, and to keep the thread on topic, my clutch engages high also (closer to foot off pedal).
