SS Six Speed Manual 1st to 2nd Shift

I have a 2010 SS manufactured in October 2009. It currently has 5,000 miles on it. I'm noticing a little glitch when shifting from 1st to 2nd. About 70% of the time it shifts very smooth but 30% of the time it resists going into 2nd (I have to pull hard or wiggle the stick a bit and then it engages. All other gears work very smooth. It still has 18 months on bumper to bumper warranty. :-) Thought I'd see if there is any advice out there on this subject. Thanks in advance.

I used to get a "notchy" feeling on the 1-2... especially when cold. Nothing like what you have. Is it the same at all speeds/rpms?

sounds like skip shift to me. accelerate a little harder, see if it still does it. i think if u try to shift out of 1st before hitting a certain RPM range or 18mph it triggers the skip shift and throws ur hand to the middle of the shifter to go down to 4th.

My LS's 6 speed has shifted rough from the day I drove it off the lot new. I assumed that was just the way it was until I started reading other posts like this on the forums. First to second is usually hesitant and 2nd to 3rd now has a notchy feeling 30% of the time. Maybe its fine and its just me, but I'd rather not have to bring it in to have them tear down the transmission!

They all will do it eventually. Mine started around 2500 miles. It's not the skip shift b/c mine is tuned out. There are multiple threads on this site about this. Once my car is warm, it's a beast, but if I try to power shift as soon as I crank it she grinds like crazy!!!

My 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd used to be quite notchy but it seems to be improving with age. It might be me improving with age though...yea....it's me improving with age for sure.

I'm also from St. Charles. Definitely sounds like the skip shift on the V8. Probably because of the summer time and running the AC that your revs aren't high enough. Can someone post the rpm level, I thought it was like 2,000?

My new '11 does the same thing. I writing it off to being rusting at shifting with a Hurst. Hopefully that's all it is.

That's the first thing that came to mind.
