Just did this over the weekend (I'm at 35K). You guys weren't kidding, that stuff stinks. Replaced with Amsoil and their additive. I'm not sure how much of this is in my head but it seems smoother especially at low speeds. Good stuff.

I change my differential fluid in all my vehicles every other oil change. It is cheap simple insurance. Any contamination is removed (water, shavings, and anything else). You are less likely to tear a seal. Bearings will last longer. My Land Rover lr3 still has its original differentials. Many owners had new differentials replaced under warranty. I think this shows what fresh fluid can do . I've never had a diff seal leak or any other problem with any rear or four wheel drive I've had. Same for changing my coolant every two years, Well worth it.

Anyone have input / experiences with Lucas 75W-90 for the V6 auto? Getting ready to cross the 30K mark, time for a rear diff dump. Thanks!

It's been proven by science that every DIY comes with butt dyno HP...even a manual car wash.

When its done leaking from the top bolt, wipe it dry, then you know its the correct level. You have the correct amount

Too late-I pooped the bolt in while it was coming out.Im just surprised the amount specified is more than will fit.Who knows , maybe the car was leaning to the left a little from the jack.

Is the fill routine the same for the ZL1 rear differential? Fill it until oil comes out of the top-side hole?

yes, it just holds more than an SS. The ZL1 circulates trans fluid through the cooler in there, but the refill process is the same.
