I have a similar noise. I think that if you get under the car you find that the noise is coming from the transmission/clutch area. Manual transmission cars are like this.

....noises abound with the ZL1....in every area of mechanical operation....if they are persistent and get worse over time then it's time for concern...

The supercharger coupling is really noisy on these cars. I suspect that is what you're hearing and its explained in a service bulletin. The only fix is to have the LS9 coupling installed, but the dealer won't do it since the supercharger is pre assembled from Eaton. This is the reason everyone who has a smaller supercharger pulley installed changes it out. The part is only about $50, but I was quoted about $300 to change only the bushing by a performance shop in my area.

Here is a pic of it from Lingenfelter's website. It fixes the problem, but most folks change the upper pulley out to a smaller one since the labor is almost the same. The spring on the original one eats into the shaft of the supercharger by design, and this is the noise you're hearing.

Changing the pulley size would change boost?
And is this a simple fix?
