You should still be able to run in the 11's easy. I ran 11.7 as a stock ZL1. You need to practice your launching and 60 foot times. Possibly your car prep also.

How?

You mean on the Dyno or at the track..Answer is yes to both, well I had a CAI and a tune. Dyno'd at 496 on a Mustang Dyno and ran 12.8 @ like 113 MPH in the 1/4. 60' times suck back 2.1 - 2.5 is the best I could do. I'm not a 1/4 mile guy, only been a couple of times.

Texas Speed 2" headers with High Flow Cats
Texas Speed X pipe with stock mufflers
Texas Speed LS3-B Blower Cam
Custom Tune with a Wide Band tuner / Laptop

Here is the catch. I am still using the stock injectors, so the power is turned down at the moment. I am getting the ID850 injectors in a couple of weeks, but this thing feels really strong right now. Took it to the track and was only able to pull a 12.018 @ 120 MPH. Was not able to get traction (surprise) on the stock tires and even on mode 5, the car was chopping the power when I started to spin the wheels. When I hit 2nd gear it would break the tires loose and jump out on me and then bark them in 3rd.
All those mods don't matter - if you're on stock injectors you can only make 560-570rwhp safely until you upgrade. I would have done the injectors at the same time. Why pay for the dyno/tuning twice, and also risk running lean?

Put it on the Dyno today. Ran 91 Octane (its hard to find 93) and it put down 576 RWHP and 575 Torque. I thought it would make more, but it is what it is....Might try to run some higher octane at the next Dyno day to see if that does anything. I think this is all I am going to do to it for right now. Maybe a smaller S/C pulley at a later date. Might do the E85 conversion or water/meth injection...dunno, kinda still in limbo right now. last time at the track, I was able to get it to launch on the stock rubber. Ran several 11.7 passes at 124 MPH. My 60' was about a 1.9...So when it hooks up, it does good.

Remember the dyno is a tool & each one varies from mustang to dynojet etc. If your happy with the car then drive it and enjoy it. You have to work on that 60ft, your car has a lot more left in it.

James, still great numbers...I'm wondering what you'll see up at Tulsa? Keep us posted.

Thanks Sam...I was told that I am losing 60HP (WTF) because I have an A6 and not an M6.

Manuals are estimated to suck up 15% of power through the drivetrain. Autos are usually estimated to be 20%. Because the 6L90 is so beefy, 20% is probably pretty conservative. Remember when the 4L60E guys in 4th gens would swap to TH400's or 4L80E's? They'd lose 50rwhp (and they were already down 30rwhp vs the T56 guys). Something as stout as a 6L90 I could easily see sucking up 20-25%.

15% of 700hp crank is 105 horsepower drivetrain loss. 20-25% of 700hp is 140-175 horsepower drivetrain loss. That's a net loss of 35-70 rwhp going auto instead of manual, so I'd say a 60rwhp loss is totally viable. If you want dyno numbers, get a manual. If you're turning this into a straight strip car though it'll be hard to beat an auto. It takes most of the human factor out of the equation.

Good post! I guess I'm a little bit of both really..I'd love to see the numbers on the car read higher, but running an 11.7 @ 124 MPH ain't no joke. I did that on street tires and crappy 60' times (1.9 being my best). What really matters is the feeling you get when you hit the gas and it sucks you back in the seat. The car sounds so good, I leave the radio off all the time (no joke).

I had planned on being in Tulsa and hitting the drag strip last Friday. But with the chance of rain most of the week, and only having MT drag radials, I decided to leave the ZL1 at home and take a different car to Tulsa.

looking at your mods listed and the HP numbers, I'd say I am losing a ton of HP because I have an A6.....smdh

What kinda dyno did they use. Don't be to stuck on numbers.

But I will say you need to get some tires and work on your 60ft like I said earlier, especially having a auto..
