The tapshift feature changed, I believe 2012 models can be activated in "D". It's the year not model that determines it. I believe it can be disabled from activating in "D" in the tuning.

12's can shift manually in D or M. If you accidently hit the tap shift in D, press and hold the the upshift for a few seconds and it will go back to drive.

Glad mine works the way it does. When I have it in M then I pay more attention to the tap shifters. When it's in D I sometimes just tap to the beat of the music...

happens to me every once in awhile when turning on my SS '12, just hold the paddle down a couple seconds and it switches back to D.
I cant imagine why they would have it not need to be in M, is it bad to switch from D to M while going down the road maybe? Some people wanted to alternate while driving, D on the highways, paddles on the side streets for instance, and moving the stick form D to M to D was bad? |
