Custom built exhaust
Anyone here run a custom built exhaust ? I recently had my car tuned and wasnt too happy with the numbers the tuner mentioned that the flowmasters are a bit restrictive and may be affecting my numbers . I put down 434 . Thats with cam, intake , longtubes no cats . I was thinking about going full custom with no mufflers and adding a rod mod intake . Just not sure if i could stand the noise but its pretty loud now cant see it being really too much worse

With long tubes and no cats, I doubt the Flowmasters are restricting...
What cam?? I'd recommend getting the heads ported next...

Ported heads...
I doubt you'll see much with the intake without the heads too...

tick performance shows a dyno chart reading 477 rwhp for this cam. i think you might want to have your tune checked out and then look into an exhaust system. the oem catback is not very restrictive and shouldn't hold your power back that much.
edit: saw you have flowmasters... doubt those are restricting the power that much as well. Get the tune checked first and then look into exhaust systems.

Dyno numbers can only be compared to that same dyno, with the same calibration.
What were your numbers before the cam and tune and everything?

I did 440rwhp with TSP 231 236, 2" headers HFC into stock H pipe and NPP, Halltech CAI and remote tune from Pat G. The dyno would have been lower if put in "Mustang dyno mode", like 420rwhp.
Full 3inch exhaust is the real ultimate upgrade for performance with 2inch headers or stepped headers. Unless your Flowmaster is crap, you wont see much but change it for another catback 1st to be sure. Dyno numbers VS dyno numbers on a different dyno and day are TOTALLY IRREVELENT! Dyno sheets? If it peaks at the right rpm and you trap the right number at the track, like mine did, youre all good. Rod mod and ported intake are a good mod, but might require small tune adjustment(it will run alright without) for maximum performance gains. Totally worth it since its right there with a FAST intake.

Above me is 440 with similar power mods as me plus a cam. I don't have a cam, and put down 438. Would I keep up with Whammo's car? Most assuredly not.

I forgot to mention my timing is -6 for the nitrous . I also ran a 150 shot and put down 584/589 . Just seems low and figured it would have to be exhaust
