help me get a 10 sec pass this year.

hey guys lookin for input. last year was my first year at dragracing legally. I have to say it was a blast. but this year i have set myself some goals. I want my first 10 sec pass. last year fastest i ran was 11.7 on a 50 shot and low pressure.12.1 n/a . i was on factory tires and no suspen. mods.

As of right now i gonna put a clutch in sometime before april. and get a set or et streets on a vette 18 wheel. ill be on a progressive 150 shot.

What do u guys think i need to do . to make my car run a 10 sec run. i think it should be close now with tires. i was getting 1.8 pretty consistant on the p zero's .

I think the extra juice and tires should get you there. I would look into a window switch so that you don't spray though the shifts. Also, depending on traction I would either ramp the 150 in quickly or 100%.

i using the nos launcher , its a pretty nice controller. with a set of tires and a clutch i can ramp it in over like .8 to a sec. just to soften the hit so it dont try to set out on me.
and make it ramp in from like 65% to 100% in that second.

Tires and 150 shot the car is there. Now the only excuse you will have is the "driver" : )

Best mph 121? Nice. I think you need to run like 127-128 to go 10's on a 1.7. That's just my guess.

ya john the best mph ive had was on a 50 shot with like a 75 shot fuel jet. now i run 125 most of the time but when i get a clutch ill go 150 or more.
i figure the extra power from the n20 will pick it up.

Lower trailing arms were my best mod to reduce wheel hop.
Are the 1LE axle shafts worth the upgrade?

Not a stick guy, but I'm thinking you either need to hook great and risk some breakage (or be proactive and build up the rearend), or plan to slip it out and take it easy on the rearend but you'll need more power since you won't be as efficient.

I agree with PSJ here. I am a stick guy and i am using power to get me to the 10's because i bone stock suspension and rear end. I have gone through a output shaft and one rear end already trying to be more aggressive.

my tires would take a huge RPM launch but i know i will bend or break something, so i use my power to overcome it all. My PB is 11.23 @ 127.6 with a 1.87 60ft. I am hoping for at least a 1.75, that should get me right at the door of a 10.99 hopefully.

Good luck man!
