That is an impressive number. But the Camaro was NEVER meant to compete with that. It's just not that type of vehicle. The Accord fits WAY more family needs than the Camaro. But I bet Accord won't hit it this year.

The number I was told was 60K manufactured this year, and then 100K the following years, if they don't start additional manufacturing outside of Oshawa. This came from a dealer though, so take it with a grain of salt

also the reason why the camaro is beinga 2010 instead of 2009 is that they can produce more of the same year for a longe period of time until next year model comes out. that info was from a guy from GM at the sema show last november. bottom line this car could save GM and it will . they need to sell alot of camaros.

Just to clarify, that's not my dealer (mine's ordered where I bought my last 2 Camaros), it was just a place not too far away that had what I ordered plus polished wheels. This guy said where I ordered the car from is wasting my time because I won't be in the 40K so I won't get my car till 2011. He even gave me his card and told me to call him when my car DOESNT show up. And that was after I argued with him for 30 minutes.

Your dealer is an idiot. This is obvious in your dealer's voluntary detachment from reality. Whenever there is a simple answer available, your dealer avoids it, instead prompting the most fictitious lie available. Since this sort of stupidity is impossible to remedy, the best hope for the people who actually believe your dealer's garbage is that someone on Camaro5 explains this condition to them. It's a good thing we found you.

this car may well save GM but i doubt it if they want to save GM they pay back Obama and the government as fast as they can then shit can all models that don't sell and give the chevy truck a real motor and make it really the truck it could be. the Camaro is all i knew GM could build now make a truck to match.!! I'll buy three if they make a 350 rwh truck with 1/2 ton plus towing and then they are in the game

And I'm pretty sure you mean more than 1/2 ton towing. The Camaro should tow 1/2 ton with noooo problem. About 2 jet skis I think. Most of the Big trucks are well over 5 tons towing.

well part of this may be true.
2 years ago when it was announced the camaro would be built in oshawa "we knew almost a year beforehand it would" that we were told this car would be a limited yearly run vehicle. what ever number they had figured they dident share with us, but it was NOT supposed to hit 100k units. fast forward the year before the camaro was online, we were told that the yearly production run was going to be 35k a year, no more, 1 shift. so when i think it was red ink rick and bob putz announced 100k a year, we were shocked, stunned and elated. rumour is in plant, 50k is the target score for a second shift to be added, which is all good news for us. Maybe i can get on another shift and change jobs to something a bit more on what i was trained for in the truck plant paint shop. time will tell, and, KEEP ORDERING CAMAROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
