Have you done any weight reduction, or is it basically stock weight?

Awesome runs.

So no headers? stock cats still? lower pulley? 93 octane? If that's really all the mods then that's extremely impressive. Congrats

Mine's going back together with headers, high flow cats, and an 8.6 lower for my 1st phase plan but seeing the engine sit there with the heads ready to come off I'm kinda loosing sleep wanting to just do the heads and cam all at once.

And I am definately your average Joe. IT is my day job and other than the tune, porting, and all of Damon and Keith's guidance, I'm doing the project in my garrage during off hours.

Keith, you guys really should show off a "bolt-on" ZL1 in the 9s. I don't think that's been done yet.

Drag racing your ZL1? Who'd of thunk it!

Seriously...is neat to see folks work on their own cars, and when it comes to internal engine work (specifically heads/cams), this is where the LS(x) engines really shine over the Modulars (simple vs complex, relatively speaking). That is one of the reasons I have an LS3 Vette in my garage.

Good luck!

Im really tired of seeing head/cam cars too. There's enough potential without all of that. MOST PEOPLE don't want to go into the engine of their brand new $60k. I know I wouldn't.

So in your opinion, a ZL1, with DR's with mild cam, headwork, and putting down 650+ at wheels, assuming the driver can drive, would run??? What are you putting down in terms of HP and Torque that will get you into the 9's. Does the track you run at require any additional safety modifications to the car to run in the 10's and then 9's?

650 rwhp will get you about 10:40 with a well tuned 6L90e. It will need to be about 710-720 rwhp on a good track to go 9's consistently.
Tracks around here don't say anything .

Looking at that photo, has anyone ever wondered or discussed about putting a bigger blower that will still fit under the hood? Looks like and easy enough swap. And what kind of numbers it will put out? I already know the bottom end will be able to handle lots of power, but what would it's limits be? I want this car so bad, but I want as much information now that would help for my future purchase.
