Now the GT500 SuperSnake and GT500 KR may still be in production? I don't know but those cars are $75K+ and up!

Also , I mean c'mon, did you guys really think that GM was making a Camaro Z28 that would outpower a more expensive Vette base vette!?
I never for one bit thought GM would make a 500Hp+ Z28....................
The best you will get is a SS model with almost as much HP as a Base Vette!
I don't understand why making a competition between the corvette and the camaro. I mean, these are completely different cars and you can't only state the difference by looking at the power. Even with 550hp, a camaro would still be behind the corvette in a couple of situations ...

It was, but not many people knew about it and only 602 were sold. The next year, it started getting known and they sold 7199. By 1969, everyone saw the little DZ302 running 12's with a duntov 20/20 and slicks....20,302 were sold that year.

why would it be a problem if a z28 is ahead of a base corvette??? like somebody else said a vette is a different car with different aerodynamics

just make a faster corvette if you don't want to insult the corvette crowd

I don't think a Camaro is going to run with a Z06 or ZR1. Does anyone remember the speculation of an LS8 to replace the LS7? I imagine if that is the case, it's going to run close to the output of an LSA because why would GM only give it the same power as an NA LS7?... I could see either an LSA or LS8 make it into a top dog Camaro. Even if Camaro made the same power, which it wouldn't, a Z06 would run away in every performance test just because it's just a better performance car. There's nothing wrong with that, IMHO.

OMG!!! How are these NO Z28 THREADS STILL GOING!!! Do you guys really think that GM will never have a Z28 again..Come on guys! Some of you have begged and begged and begged for GM to bring back the camaro, and they have....now you complain that a trim model has not been announced, you say that you won't buy one just because of a badge...bullsh*t...

That wasn't part of the deal. You didn't ask for a camaro with 600 hp Z28 that decimates all, and then some. We asked for a Camaro and GM is trying to provide it even in the face of rising gas prices....

Get over yourself and buy the SS while GM puts the final touches on the car for the Vert, and the all American Badass......wait for it............Z28!!!!

I all of you, but this is petty crap to complain about! Especially on a message board with some people who have worked their ass off to make this happen!

some people are very disrespectful...however, you can't please everybody. If people want to get their panties in a bunch over minor things, that's ok...they don't have to buy one...but I promise you that they will be jealous when they see us riding down the road in ours.

Sorry, you'd better go back and brush up on your Camaro history, the Z/28 was not available when the '67 Camaro was first released in Aug./Sept. 1966, it was closer to a mid-year release with release to the press in Nov. '66 and it went into production on Dec. 29, 1966.

Read it again, she said "no Z/28 at the start of regular production", that does not rule it out down the road.
