If you are wondering about price, go check the Z28 forum that you have never visited. This has been discussed extensively for a couple of years.

exactly what I was thinking.
The Cobra R was the same way.. stripped and still more expensive than anything else.

True. But, Ford does offer actual race cars in the Boss 302S and Boss 302R. Neither are street legal though. So this Z28 would be the equivalent of a street legal 302S I suppose.

I am confused about this car and where it is in the hierarchy of Camaros. My question is, if GM were to somehow put back in all the creature comforts, how would it compare to the ZL1?

Am curious why the front splitter on the Z/28 isn't more contoured to the shape of the front? Those corners will be finding a lot of sidewalks when parking!

because it is a race car first.. street car second.

I'm nowhere near old enough to remember the 60s, but for the old timers this has to feel like what it was back then with so many different versions of the Camaro coming out. From the RS to the SS, z/28, Copo 427s, all the different engine choices, suspension and trim packages, and even a choice of whether or not to have air conditioning! (I know A/C was as rare in '67 as it is common place in 2013 but still)....

I think the rumored demise of the muscle car has been greatly exaggerated!

I gotta say, the more and more I look at the Z/28, the more and more I love it. It's a homerun for Chevrolet, inside and out. I'm definitely liking the non-RS tail lights more than the RS. If I didn't already have my 1LE, and was in the market for a 2014, this would probably be the one I would go for. Absolutely fantastic job, GM and Team Camaro!
