I know this has nothing to do with the V6 Camaro not being able to beat an R/T challenger ,but it does question that "old" saying.
Well, maybe it should be "theres no replacement for displacement...when FI isn't involved".

If you type "No replacement for displacement" in google and go to the fourth link "No replacement for displacement lol" you will find a few links to a Supra killing a twin turbo Corvette with 300,000 put into it along with a twin turbo Viper and at Ford gt40 twin turbo in a standing mile.

As said before this is an "Age Old" saying and when FI is involved it throws that saying out the window.

Also type in "worlds greatest drag race" in you tube and you will see 11 super cars ranging from a 458 Italia to a GTR. This was done by Motor trend. Even I was shocked who won.

I remember that thread; wasn't that guy running 40 PSI and N20 too? I just thought that was insane for that stock(ish) looking supra to hit 240+ with what looked like no aero mods.

Agreed.

You're talking about this one, right?

Around 1:30: "This isn't a serious test."

Yeh that's the on I am talking about. It seems pretty serious to me and the times are pretty close to what each car runs in the 1/4 mile. Perhaps with so many different cars and drivers they had to say that lol. Cool race either way. I am kind of mad they had the Z06 and not the ZR1.

Used to have an Auto R/T, it went 13.7's pretty consistently stock with the Auto. If you do any digging into the Challenger world, the 5.7 has a more aggressive torque curve than the 6.1, it just has less of it. Pretty much every review vblog and magazine has the R/T only 2-5 tenths behind the SRT.

On that restoration show (Desert Sport Cars) on Discovery. They tested the 2011 Charger R/T at Speedworld Raceway and they ran 14.27 @ 97 mph. That's it.

I know Speedworld is at 1470 ft. but that's a real slow time for an R/T.

That's why I just bought one. It's very quick for a pick up. I've seen them run in the high 14's.

Apparently they suck at driving. i also saw a V6 Camaro on motorweek running a 15 1/4 mile time, doesn't mean I believe it is all it's capable of or they could even remotely drive....

It's definitely a little off the pace for a stock R/T. The trap speed is also low. Maybe they left the TC on, etc.

But 15s would be pretty believable for the V6 Camaro in so so conditions. These times listed are the fastest times for a V6 Camaro in this forum.

A 14.7 will get you the #3 spot on the fast list. So low 15s would probably be common time for a stock V6 with an average driver.

1. 14.408 @ 94.24 - Wikedwil - LS A6
2. 14.440 @ 95.51 - HDRS - LS M6
3. 14.752 @ 94.35 - JasonK - 1LT A6
4. 14.829 @ 95.99 - 02pewtersix - 1LT M6
5. 14.860 @ 93.29 - BaylorAirForce - 2LT/RS A6

Again guys, that list hasn't been updated in a while so the numbers look a little better. Also, most of the V6 guys that go to the track modded their car almost immediately so these times may not be as much a "hero" run like a 12.6 stock SS. With good DA a 14.1-14.2 is probably realistic for the LLT. A bad DA will easily yeild a 15s.
