Another Reason for a Manual

Looking over my order paperwork and noticed that an automatic cost $1,185 more, but that ain't all. If you buy an automatic the gas guzzler tax goes from $1,300 to $2,300. So an automatic really will cost you $2,485 more than a 6 speed manual. Ouch

40,000.00 for a new camaro.
2.485.00 more for the auto
The look on the manual owners face
after he loses...Priceless.

Since I left my clutch knee in Vietnam, I was stoked when I saw the ZL 1 had a 6 spd auto option.

I would have a 2013 GT 500, also if Ford figured a way to offer it.

Didn't mean to offend anyone, thank you for your bravery and the sacrifice you gave for your country. I'm a vet too. Glad GM made your ZL1 dream possible. Proud supporter of our armed forces. Thanks to all our brave young men and women.

Is this breaking news or just another thread to start the manual vs. auto debate again?

I'm pretty sure the pricing for the ZL1 has been around for quite awhile.

The GT500 will not have an auto transmission. They would lose more consumers than they would gain.

Not with an SS, even with me, a girl, behind the wheel. What's your top speed so far in the SS? 153 in my SS. Hope to easily get into the 160's with my new ZL1 once she all broken-in. Can't wait!

ps. $2,485 is on a ZL1 and it's not 40's more like 60ish. I got a Need for Speed! Fun Fun Fun!
