Glad that she's running better. There's a car guy on the radio on Sat. am here in Dallas that advocates that as a method to reset the computer back to the factory defaults; however, he says to disconnect the positive battery cable for 5-10 min. Either way - battery or fuses, you get the same result...you kill the power feed and the system, in essence, reboots. The sensors are supposed to adjust to the octane level; however, I've heard that going lower and then back to higher causes some problems as the computers aren't wired to go that direction consistently.
Just like your desktop...when in doubt, reboot and start over. Rock on and baby those tires. They don't give those away, even at Wal-Mart.

Wait a minute
im confused ... if your l99 is acting sluggish, it might be from the dealer using 87 octane? and to reset this (just like rebooting a comp) you pull fuses #5 and #20 from the fuse box for a few hours while the car is idling (or while it is off?) and you do not drive it while the fuses are pulled (i assume ) and after a few hours you reconnect the fuses and the cars comp system should be reset back to default making the car faster and accustomed to teh 93 octane as opposed to the crappy 87? is the only reason to do this is to reset the cars comp? sorry im a noob with this stuff

Pulling Fuses for L99?
Quote:
Skooter...It sounds like this is working for some folks...are you going to try it? I've read people are pulling these two fuses and leaving them out for at least 5-10 min, some for at least 3 hrs, and some folks overnight. I'm guessing the 5-10 min test is an easy one. If that doesn't work, then you could extend the time. Interested in hearing your results if you decide to go for it! Good luck!
