Torn between two 1LE's
Just debating in my head... If I save 6K now will I will be kicking myself in the butt later on?
Though, in reality I would only be saving 4K with the 30k 1LE. I would immediately end up swapping out the stock exhaust for the same Corsa Extremes that I put on the Grand Sport, or something Similar. BTW, for you guys that presently own a 1LE. What are you getting out of your tires for Mileage? Looking at those Bad Boys, I can bet they will wear like the Goodyear's on my GS Corvette. (Wear Bars showing at 5K and will not pass inspection by 10K) Thanks everyone! |

Why would you kick yourself later? There's no downside to a 1LE that I've experienced yet. As far as tire wear I don't know yet. I swapped mine for all seasons after 2K miles. Winter in the northeast and all.

Sorry for the Double Thread. I just joined the forum and I was getting a 404 server busy message every time I tried to post. ( Both ended up posting ).
And, my Copy and paste did not fully paste. Here is the rest of my message... Thank you, I have to decide between two new 15 1LE's. One is priced at 30K . The other at 36K. The one for 30K only has Winter mat's and Nav for options. The 36K model has, Navigation. RPO Brake Cooling. Recaro Seats. RS Package. Dual Mode Exhaust. |

If it was me, I'd opt for door number two. With the dual mode exhaust you really don't need to go aftermarket. When those baffles open, you're basically running straight pipes that breathe just fine.
Want to make it better, throw your money at headers w/ high flow cats, CAI and ported Throttle Body. I don't care about Nav, the Recaros are wonderful, the RS package is a must. What a horrible decision to have to make.. I've also seen the site act flaky early in the morning on a pretty consistent basis.. Maybe they're doing maintenance at that time.. |

price aside, it comes down to if you want those options. I personally would want the seats as well as the exhaust so its a no brainer.

Yes, they are both 2SS Models.
The Difference in price is really going to drain my pocket right now. I can scrape it, but it will hurt for a few months. Wondering if the Pain will be well served when I think about it several months down the road. Swapping the Exhaust was a pain with the Vette. Jacking it up off of all fours took two hours in itself. ( not something really to look forward to ) Not to mention the aftermarket Cat Back for the Camaro must be close to 2K if not more. The Factory Dual mode does sound just as good. |

I would suck it up now to enjoy the bells and whistles the extra money gives you, maybe even extend a year to your payments to lower it overall

Do you plan on tracking or autoX 'ing the car?
If so, getting the Recaros are a no brainer. And the dual mode exhaust is also a must have. The 1LE should have come standard with it. Or keeping looking around for one that is optioned more to your taste. Nav in cars, to me is an overpriced option anymore that is rarely used by the owner (unless you travel ALOT). Smart phones can do just a good of a job.

I guess the Dual Mode Exhaust isn't standard with the 1LE package. It shows as an additional option on all of the Window Stickers including all of the Window Stickers with the 1LE option that I have looked at. The Brake option reads this way on the Window Sticker. LPO, Brake Cooling Package $495.00 The 16 Camaro doesn't do anything for me. To me it looks MustangEEE and a little to Chick -ISH. Plus,, being manufactured over in MI isn't really a plus for me.. I would much rather have a Canadian built one. |

Second one! Recaro, NPP, RS option. If you go with option one you will kick yourself for sure! When I bought mine I loaded it up with EVERYTHING! A little strain for a bit on the budget... But I want what I want and have ZERO regrets.
Rear tires go well before the front. I have never done a burn out in my car, so it is just from driving the car. I corner it hard for sure and the rear tires take abuse. With 8500 miles on mine, rears are 3/4 wore out, fronts are only 1/4 used up. I know this because I have a brand new set on rims sitting in the shop ready to bolt on. I measured tread depth on those vs my set on the car. |
