Dave, take alittle different approach here. He is only saying what he has NOT bashing.
Whipple you should deffinetly have cold IAT at idle, if you don't have the water temp gauge hooked up you should still see a IAT drop of 25*+ from abient, also your hoses should be cold/sweaty and the water temp should prolly be around 40*. You have a vaccume leak or a bad divertor valve. Look at the didvertor valve to see if it is fully closed when the A/C is on, if its not it will be allowing the water from the stock exchanger to mix in and not be as productive as it can be.

i am still confused here... i am getting 55 degree water and no drop in IAT ?? my iat will go all the way to 180 with car idleing for over 10 mins....
maybe someone has a solution or something to check...
maybe something in the tune that comes with the canned with tune for the iat sensor that is not in my current tune ?
just makes no sense to have cold water and no iat drops at all.. even with chiller off iat are the same...

You have a PM about relocating the IAT sensor.

Also I found my car with only get the water to 50* at idle in regular mode, I goto comp mode and bring the idle up to 1100 and in 5 minutes the water goes to 35-40*.

Did you add additional freon? I am sure you did just running through things that happened to me, mine was aggervating to get the freon level correct, I either had the chiller work great and sucky A/C or the other way but we finnaly got a happy spot.

lol the proper level I am not sure I added and removed freon so many times before I got it right it was plain silly. But I was the first one on Camaro so I think they know the right amout now and would think it is in the instruction but could be wrong.

i never said anything about daves chiller not working.. we knew it was working cause water was getting cold but thought maybe my setup was to big for the chiller to do its job. once we determined the iat where not dropping at all with cooler water we knew that didnt make sense .. so i tracked down all the wiring from the maf to the iat sensor and found a wire on the iat sensor not connected properly..

Glad you found that, know we have to figure out how to get that water in the high 30's - low 40's then it should help you a good bit.

yes sir ,, i worked on it a bit today,,,
will continue tomorrow .. lowest ive seen is 52 degrees
kits is working great tho and i would prefer anyone wanting to lower iat to go with this kit.,, only suggestion would be for dave to write up a little better instructions.. would save alot of trouble and also bothering him!!
Great kit!!

I was on phone every day with Blake, at first nothing made sense. Once I decided problem had to be with IAT read out, I suggested the IAT table in Tune was off, I have seen this with EForce, they use a TMAP that uses Ford IAT table in Tune. We had a tuner accidentally drop the GM table in and IAT temps were crazy.

After Blake verified tune was good I said it had to be wiring or a bad IAT sensor. No way does water temp go down 50deg and IAT go up 10deg. Blake is hitting it hard with big engine, 17lb boost and Whipple has a very good Intercooler so he wont see the 30-40 deg water most do. Once he dials in Freon charge it should be good. IMHO higher water temp in this case is a result of taking a lot of heat out of the blower. Even at his initial Freon charge he was seeing the guaranteed 50 deg reduction in ICWT. There are advanced adjustments we can make for a high heat application in house but it’s difficult to relate this to a first time installer.
Thanks for hanging in there Blake and good work!

I think at ilde from fresh start that chiller should see 40* water for the intial, If not then I would say Dave this is the perfect car to install 2 chillers on just as we were going to do originally on my car, with 2 plumbed in it would get the water to 30* no doubt.
