AAC Style P13W Bulbs = Junk
Well,
Ordered a set of the P13W Bulbs from AAC Styles on the 21st of December, and the DRL wiring harness.. installed the bulbs this last Sundays 1-20-13 (they arrived on the 2nd of January). But anyways, waited for the weather to be decent, installed the bulbs and harness as described "PERFECTLY". Here it is Wednesday, and the drivers side bulb is already burned out.. tried my old $1.97 P13W Led bulb, and it lit up like a xmas tree.. got these VERY expensive bulbs since they were white, and figured..hmmm, that much money they must be the shizzle..pffft boy was I wrong. Call them up, and they say go online, fill out the warranty form, send just the one bulb back..really? don't you change bulbs in pairs, or you'll keep getting the same problem(s)? so I am going to shell out shipping, which will cost more then probably 3 sets of the $1.97 bulbs I could buy. not sure why this company keeps selling these garbage bulbs, and don't replace the bulbs we pay a fortune for, with the plasma bulbs, that actually have a resistor.. pretty sure they say these have a resistor, but I really doubt it since they weigh the exact same as the $1.97 P13W LED bulbs. Best part was the guy on the phone trying to tell me that it's my connection, not the bulb... LOL some people crack me up.. even after I told him I tried the other $1.97 P13W LED bulb in the same socket, and it worked, and tried the other EXPENSIVE AAC P13W LED bulb, and it worked just fine. but whatever... I'll be an idiot, and spend money on shipping to get ONE bulb replaced, instead of both, like it should be.. |

Just an FYI all LEDS have to have a resistor to drop the voltage across them. If you're buying one LED over the other because of a "resistor" it's a scam.

Crap I bought these a couple months ago cause the ones I originally bought off amazon the passenger side one went out and I figured these would work better. I haven't installed them yet but now I am worried.

I wouldn't be too worried personally, try them out and see how they do and if they start acting funny Id just ask for a refund... It's kind of where I'm at with the stuff i still have to return to AAC

The only annoying thing though is that with my apex scoop and w/w relocator I gotta take off my front driver side tire in order to change the bulb since the dam bottle is right behind it, just a little bit of a hassle.

I don't understand why people continue to buy from them. Look at how many negative reviews they get. Also, don't understand why the moderators allow this vendor to be on this site for all the broken junk they sell.

This. I feel bad for the new comers to the site that don't know about AAC's reputation and end up buying illegal sidemarkers. I cringe every time I see someone looking to buy those.
