Some of those are just downright clever. Like the shopping cart bike. Hanging your groceries off the handlebars never seems to work as well as it should. Sure, you'd lose some manoeuvrability, but you'd gain a lot of stability. And cargo capacity.

Also, I've done the duct tape fridge shelf thing. Beer fridge in university.

I remember doing the clamp thing with a nickle when I broke the battery terminal on my Mustang. Drove like that for about a week before my replacement part came in.
