2013 Challenger R/T vs. 2013 Camaro 2SS
I've been lurking here for a few months now and figured I'd tell my story...
I bought my first sports car in 1996 when I was 19... a used 1989 Mustang GT 5.0 with manual transmission. I gave up the Mustang for a more family friendly car after my daughter was born. In November of 2012, I knew I was going to buy either a Challenger or Camaro (they were 1A and 1B on my list). I never test drove the Camaro, because I found a deal that was too good to pass up on a 2013 Challenger R/T Plus, so I pulled the trigger. The next summer, I took it to the track and put up a personal best in the 1/4 mile: 13.59 seconds at just under 104 MPH, with a pretty much stock Challenger (only mod was axle-back exhaust). Unfortunately, life happens, and again I had to give up a car I loved before I was ready. On January 2nd of this year, I purchased my first Camaro... a 2013 Camaro 2SS L99 in excellent condition, and at a great price! I can't quite put my finger on it, but the Camaro actually made me completely forget about my Mustang and Challenger, and I no longer miss either car. The Camaro is far and away the most exciting car I've ever owned, and I can't wait to get it out to the drag strip this summer to beat my old quarter mile time. I've enjoyed lurking around in these forums, and taking in all of the great advice offered by members of the Gen5 community. I look forward to being a member here for years to come! TL;DR: Mustangs and Challengers are okay, but Gen5 Camaro's and the Gen5 Community are the greatest around! Last edited by Arthur2142; 05-18-2017 at 01:29 PM. |

Thank you! I washed my Challenger at least once or twice, every week! I had a garage back then, so I could wash it rain or shine... I don't have that same luxury nowadays.

That was one sharp Challenger. The Camaro looks great too. Did you get a 1SS or a 2SS?

I found it online, and it was at a dealership that is about 25 miles from my house for $24,400. It was too good of a deal to pass up! The Challenger was a great car, and I had a lot of fun taking it to car shows and the drag strip, but like I said before, there's just something special about the Camaro that makes me not even miss the Challenger. |
