Lower door panel fix

My lower door panel has a scrape where someone's shoe rubbed it getting in or out of the car. Small but annoying abrasion on the plastic 'cause I know it's there.

Tried using Meguiar's protectant on it, but it does not hide. Anyone have suggestions?

Are you talking about a discolored area as in a black scuff mark?

Yes Junkman, but it's black on black. Scuff mark is not shiny, rest of panel is shiny. Sorry should have posted a pic last night but was real tired:

I know it's just a small thing, but would like to get it to at least blend into the rest of the panel.

I was thinking about getting one of those metal kick plates so I stop accidentally scuffing mine.

The problem is, it's textured. There's really not much you can do without spraying textured paint. I'd ignore it unless you want to replace it and take a chance at scuffing it again. Or, get one of those door sill covers that Sterling is talking about.

The autogly Magic Sponge will help mask the scratch you have shown.

One tip to over do it or you will dull the panel, but it will work with what you have shown.

Let me know if you have any questions.

We were kicking ours all the time so I got the metal kick plates. They work well.

Just a question, and no I'm not being sarcastic... but how do you kick your doors?

Looking at the pic, that's not a scuff (dirt/discoloration), it's a scratch in the panel...

Long doors + tight spots.

I almost hit mine every time I get out .

Guess I've been lucky then... I'll knock on wood now!
Sorry for the damage to your cars, even a little mark would bother me as well.

Baldman, I was in the USAF and then worked for the Marines for 3 years as civil service at Parris Island. Great times, interesting people!

will try the shoe polish, you never know and can't make it much worse.

Dylan, I thought about this! But not an option for the wife.

Yes, 'tis but a scratch (ala Knights of Nee). May have been a tech at the dealer or someone I let sit in the drivers seat. Oh yeah - or me.
