Best drag radials, MT or Nitto?
I'm looking for a set of drag radials to mount on my stock ZL1 wheels. After searching this site, the two I'm considering are the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial II - 305/35/20's and the NITTO Extreme Performance NT05R Drag Radial - 315/35/20.
But looking at the two side by side, I'm having a hard time believing that the MT grips better than the Nittos. Am I on crack??

I just ordered a set of the MT,s mainly due to Stephens recommendation. I got them thru Jegs and they should be here and mounted tomorrow. If the weather stays nice I should have some track results Friday night. Tim

I have used both and must say there is something to the rubber compound itself vs the tread design. The Nittos aren't bad but the M/Ts are much stickier and overall better. You won't be disappointed with the M/T drag radial. The ones I have never tried are M&H drag radial(had used their racemaster bias ply many times with success) or Hoosier drag radial(have used the quick time pro with great results). The last two may not have sizes that will work well with our 17,18, or 20 inch options.

I've had both.... M/T definitely grip better... But don't like how the fit on a ZL1 rim... Rim sticks out further then tire.... Nt05R protect rim better.... But like I said M/T definitely hooks up better...

I'd say ok as long as it isn't too wet. My opinion is to get 18" wheels and swap rear wheels for the drag strip.

I've had both. There's no comparison, the MT hook better.

ive had my nitto555r's on for about 2k miles and they drive great even in the rain. dry road launches they are 100% improvement although they will still break loose just not as bad as factory tires. the handling is a little sacrificed as on high speed tight turns it feels like the car just cant handle the G's as well as it did on all 4 goodyears. i put factory goodyears on front only and nitto555r's on back all factory size

MT's tend to hook better but wear out faster. Also look at the tread wear ratings of tires.
