the "rope" is really just an addition the government made them put on to limit the top speed of the beast because they can only limit it so much at the CPU

Quote:
That rope is preproduction...just a placeholder they got at Autozone while they work on developing the actual production rope.
wrong, wrong, wrong get it right will ya headlights are from Autozone, rope are from Ace (and it's not available on black Camaros)

What really disappoints me about the rope is that it’s on the passenger side now. I really wanted it on the driver side…

Actually I like the rope though personally I'd like a darker color , but now are they working on something similar for the hood?

Nice job screwing up the rope, GM.

Just wait for the aftermarket opportunities with the rope....I am.

I'm getting mine replaced with a leather strap that will match the color of the leather interior.

Personally I think the rope is one of those visual queues to the heritage of the car. Everyone remembers the redneck in the trailer park with the beat up Camaro. What did that redneck used to open the trunk? Exactly, a rope.

So the rope isn't as much of a feature as it is a salute to the rednecks who are going to break that latch anyway. It is just GM's way of saying, "Listen Billy-Bob, this one is on us"

If you like the rope, my pics should be up today. On the front pic of the black one, on the passenger headlight, there is an AC cord there.

the car must be hybrid so you can plug it in....

no, what's that?

These cars had so much wiring, I'm sure they had some piece of equipment that needed charging.
