I'd keep the stock parts, those cars are collectors items for sure. I saw one a few weeks ago looked awesome.

For yours you could get (almost) all the parts OEM.

CAI (Z/28 intake will be out shortly)
Cat Back Exhaust (Chevrolet sells a rebranded Borla)
Catch Can (No dirty side OEM, but you can buy the 1LE version for the clean side from Chevrolet). The Elite "looks" the most OEM (to me).
Short Throw Shifter (ZL1 short throw shifter is available from GM performance Parts)
Strut Tower Bar (Chevrolet Sells)
All which are over prices and do not perform better than the after market.

Agreed on the $$$.

However, I have met people who want all mods to be OEM parts, cost not being much of a consideration.

Although I am interested to see what the Z/28 intake will cost.

Almost everything ive done is reversible if I wanted to, but the truth is, it probably wont be a collector car.

Have fun with it, and enjoy it now, dont make plans to enjoy it or sell it in 50 years.

Mod it if you wanna have fun with added power or keep it stock if you feel like that value is more important down the line.
I applaud the people that can buy a car like that and keep it untouched for decades! I personally would go crazy doing that! I gotta mod mine and go faster and faster!

Only 295 of mine and - I finally went forward with the LS3 conversion (I consider that the point of no return lol). I kept all my stock parts just as mentioned, but have since unloaded most of them. However as litle88 referred to - you would have to keep the car stored for 50 years to really see it appreciate.

I only have 8700 miles on my car but I don't regret anything I have done. I now have a "1 of 1" modified Pace Car, that is bad ass and way more fun to drive.

Modding mine to an easily returnable state... wont be changing exterior other than blacked out bowties... may get different rims when the 21" tires get low... will save all stock parts

Is your thinking that GM OEM means anything different than aftermarket, when you add it to your car? If you think keeping it GM only makes a difference to a collector, you'd be wrong. If the part wasn't a "option" for that year, it's considered aftermarket.

As for the Z/28 intake, Seeing what GM has given us for a intake on on these cars, I don't see how a different GM one will be any better than what the aftermarket has to offer.

I'm not worried about it being a collector car worth huge bucks 50 years from now. I am concerned that if I sell it later on down the road the new owner will want to pay less if it's not all original so keeping all the original parts will be part of my game plan.

Keeping all or most of the original parts is ALWAYS a good idea. Never know if you'll have to sell or trade it in. Since you gain absolutely zero from the dealer or used car place on trade in, might as well swap them out and sell them separately.

Well you are right that is exactly what will happen. Do a little to your car, but geez that is such a good machine it doesn't need a lot of "upgrades". Keeping any stock parts you replace is wise because if/when you go to sell it, you will get less for a heavily modified car.

I'm thinking the same thing too. Those 21" tires are very expensive. Cheaper to get 20" rims and tires for it!
