Casual Cruise to Oshawa - Charitable Donation - This Saturday

As some may have heard, I'm heading out to Oshawa this Saturday. The main purpose of the trip is to present the Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Oshawa - Whitby with a cheque representing the proceeds from the recent BBOMG event. The presentation will take place at Nurse Chevrolet Cadillac (1530 Dundas Street East, Whitby) at 10:00am. Some of the local newspapers have been invited to write an article to create awareness of the event and, more importantly, the charity. Assisting me with the presentation will be some of the local supporters of the event including Oshawa Mayor and fellow Camaro owner, John Gray. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

In addition, because the forecasted weather for Saturday looks quite nice (and Sunday not so much :( ) I've decided to turn this into a bit of a cruise. Here is the tentative plan.

8:30 - Depart Mississauga
9:00 - Arrive Yorkdale shopping centre (in front of Bay to pick up people if necessary)
9:15 SHARP - Depart Yorkdale for Whitby via 401 (cannot delay as arrival time is critical)
9:50 ish - Arrive Nurse Chevy
10:00 - 11:00 - Presentation, press
11:00 - Depart from Nurse
(now this part is up in the air) Drive to GM Oshawa Autoplex, quick drive around, continue to Lakeshore park. Pictures etc. at the park. Continue to GM HQ - pictures etc. Continue to Teddy's Deli for lunch at ~ 12:30pm
1:30 - Depart Teddy's and cruise back to TO - Route to be determined (not the 401)

So if anyone is interested in coming along or joining us for lunch - feel free - post here. If you've never been to Teddy's, well lets just say you won't be disappointed. This is a very casual day and the schedule is subject to change. If there is a better meeting spot than Yorkdale, let me know. If no one posts, I'll be skipping Yorkdale but sticking to the 10:00am appointment at all costs. So if you're late, drop the hammer and catch-up. Walkie-Talkie channel 5-00.

A couple of us are meeting in Mississauga (Petro-Can on Hurontario (Hwy 10) just south of 401) and heading out from there as close to 8:30 as possible.

Quick stop at Yorkdale at 9:00am then onward. 3 cars so far... couple more meeting us at Nurse. Anyone else? Where the hell is Dennis?

As at this point no one has confirmed interest in picking up at Yorkdale (Frank if it's just you send me a text or something). I realize this is short notice, but if you would like to join there, speak up. If by 7:30 tomorrow morning I haven't seen a request for a stop at Yorkdale then I'm going to blast straight thru to Nurse in Whitby. Of course feel free to meet us there and join for lunch.

Yorkdale is good for me, as close to 9:07ish as possible, opp. 'The Bay', facing the 401, parallel to the off ramp.

PS - If we miss anyone at a pick-up point (b/c our stops will be 5 min's max) and you catch up to us on the highway and happen to have GRMS radios, we'll be on channel 5 (sub-channel 0)

It was a great day for a drive to "the shwa", thanks Scott, great idea to stop @ Teddy's for lunch. Those portions can surely feed third world countries.
