WAIT A MINUTE my car doesnt sit on the lift for half its life, so how are you supposed to spin your tires without a transmission anyway

Plus Corey is performing surgery on my car as we speak. I should be able to squeak those DR's after he does his work. Kyle there should be a little tread left.....maybe

Yup, my car is on a lift half her life, and I'm out of the country half of mine... so your point is???

Chris, bro... you need to lay off the popcorn... It's showing on the hips there bro.... pound your fingers a little more over the keyboard... that's a little bit of excercise...

tipping the hat is one thing, walking around like a moving billboard not so much...

I've got a few bigger ones in my sig and the rest are on my start page for this journal....

I got a message from Corey...

The measured distance from the trans housing to the pivot point of the shifter is 10.5 inches...

The distance on the RSG trans is 14 inches... Unless I miss my guess, I'm thinking this will put the shifter about where the front of the forward cup holder is. I'm fine with that...

I'll have to fabricate something to fill it in cosmetically but that's not a problem... If I can't manage it, there are plenty of vendors and crafts people out there that can...

I'm still serious about liking the idea of an internal shifter that isn't affected by the flexion of the car body and the torque of the motor...

wont that reak havoc on your elbow? I am picturing you straining to hold your arm back far enough to make the shifts.... or maybe I am over exaggeratting it... will that be comfortable?

You missed it, but that's not a problem, I know you've been busier than a cutworm...

Here is a representative image of the trans I'm getting... Chris said he saw it at the big show in Florida.... and told me about it... It will have an SFI rated steel bell housing and a mid plate...

Then, note the size of the tail house... It requires a major modification to the cross member and as we now know so internal adjustments as well... It's going to mean the shifter will be 3.5 inches further back.... which is fine with me, I've always thought it was just a bit too far forward anyway... I like most of my forearm resting on the console and my hand comfortably on the shifter... Better leverage and control....

Note that there is no attachment point for the shifter... other than the shifter rod which simply bolts on... then put a shifter ball on top and get after it.......The whole shifting mechanism is internal to the tail housing... what this does in removes the torque twist and body flex from the equation.... The only factor on the shifter is the driver... so we have to work on that mod....
