I have had this feature for the last 11 years, starting with the WS6 and continuing in the 1LE. It has never been an issue. If it comes on, it takes all of about 1/2 second to simply put it in third and go. If you are taking off hard enough that shifting to second is important, then it will have never come on. I find these threads, much like the hill holding clutch threads interesting, but just never see why it is a big deal.

Did you make it to Jefferson? I know traffic was really bad the weekend you were coming up.

We did make it up, but the weekend got away from me. We had a great time, saw some good fireworks and played a little golf. The yellow lab in the all black cloth interior made for a bit of clean-up when we got home, but I am happy to report the car got 22.5 MPG on the trip! I did however pick up a nail in the right rear tire, but my wheel and tire protection plan kicked in and all is good! They were able to repair the tire.

I must admit, I find the hill hold VERY annoying. My driveway is angled just enough to activate it and it holds WAY TO LONG!!!!! I sold BMWs for a short time and their cars have had that feature for a long time. It NEVER caused me any frustration and that was in the Syracuse, NY area. They actually have hills...unlike the area I'm in now.... I'm going to need to look up one of those threads and hopefully learn more about it there.

How does the ship shift install.
Just wondering, It has'nt bothered me yet, but I figure it can't hurt. How does it install? In a fuse box or what?

when it is activated, i would shift into 3rd instead of 4th. Since it rarely gets activated, I left it alone, factory set up. :-)

I concur with some... Never saw it on my '10 SS, or my '13 1LE. I crank up, hold the button down to turn off then nannies and drive it...

I believe it says this in the manual.
1st gear, 15-19mph, with less than 20% throttle will initiate the skip shift. Hope this helps |

Double clutching seems to get rid of it too. I do that when the engine/ trans are still warming up.
