LSX 376?

I've got a 2011 l99 with a supercharger. I have an idea to buy a LSX376 crate and swap out my l99 then sell the l99 long block. If I can pull it off, I would have $3000? in a forged internal, no dod lifters, new engine set up for a blower. I already have someone interested in my 7000 mile l99. What do you guys think?

What I think would depend on how much blower you have. If it's a TVS2300, then I think you're leaving a lot on the table with a low compression motor. If you have a big centrifugal, you have enough boost available to make up for the lower compression ratio. TX Speed can put a motor together, with all new parts, that's set up exactly like you want it...no compromises. If you're going to all the trouble of a motor swap, do it once and do it right.

but does that texas speed motor come with a 2 year 50k warranty from GM....GM crate engines are a great way to do a swap..

I don't think they come with a 2/50k if you put a blower on them or other mods. Plus you really would want a cam tailored to your setup. I think starting with a bare ls3 block is a better setup and just build a motor that fits your needs.

If making good power doesn't matter, and all you want is reliability, turn the boost down on your stock motor. It will last a long time.

So you can just throw any blower on it, crank it up, any tune and they will warranty it? I would check on the details because I very much doubt that.

Right out of the GMPP warranty for the engine
THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
• Damage due to improper installation, negligence, alteration, accident, improper use, or any use related
to racing, track or competition. Proper vehicle use is discussed in the vehicle Owner’s Manual. In
addition, coverage does not apply if the odometer has been disconnected or the mileage reading has
been altered.
• Damage caused by lack of proper maintenance as described in the vehicle’s original Owner’s Manual/
Maintenance Schedule, failure to follow Maintenance Schedule intervals, or failure to use or maintain
proper type and levels of fluid, fuel, oil, and lubricants recommended in the Owner’s Manual/
Maintenance Schedule. Proof of proper maintenance is the owner’s responsibility. Keep all receipts
and be prepared to make them available if questions arise about maintenance.
• Damage as a result of overheating, contamination or lack of lubrication.
• Damage caused by a turbocharger, supercharger, nitrous oxide, or similar product, which is not an
approved GM Performance Part or Accessory.
• Racing engines and / or their components.
• Use of components in excess of maximum torque specification.

So unless you use a GM performance supercharger and don't exceed 444ft/lbs of torque you maybe covered. Problem is any blower you put on it will exceed the rated torque and unless you do a LSA bolt on setup through GM it won't be covered.

as long as it is boosted to spec, they will cover. They make 2 engines for 2 different boost levels. no internal mods allowed. inspection would be performed to find cause of failure, if you melt the pistons due to bad tune, then no, but a normal failure, yes.

most recent sheet

as long as the build is proper and you are not pushing more boost ro nitrous, you should be good, it will bve inspected for failure. I have not seen any blow yet in my area.

I would buy a block from Texas speed and custom spec everything as you will get a ton a ton of performance upgrade and better components. If your putting a little blower and aren't racing it I wouldn't worry about a warranty at all

I wouldn't bother with the GM stuff unless you like restrictions.
