Lt headers and HF cats mix matching

K, I just purchases a pair of mid pipes from stainless works, do these only work with sw headers or can I go with kooks Lt headers etc.

They wont work with kooks or jba, those use bolts and flanges, sw uses slip fit. I may be interested in the mids you have if you dont use them and they are catted.

It all depends on how they connect. Kooks are ball and joint, TSP's are slip on, not sure about ARH's or SW's.

Afraid not. Like the others have said they use different types of joint connections.

Stainless Works makes a great set of headers. You will be very happy with them.

I'm a little confused. I'm looking at the sw headers, and see there are o2 bungs on the headers, and on the HF cats. The HF cats I have don't have any o2 bungs? Is there something I'm missing?

Those look similar to JBA Cats.

There are two O2 sensors on each side. Check out the picture below with the stock components sid-by-side with long tubes and high flow cats.

I see. Damn it looks like the ones I got are made for the sw cat back.

All catted or non catted midpipes will fit with any aftermarket system of the same size. It's the fitment to the header itself that's different.

A lot of cats and offroad pipes don't have the O2 bungs for the rear O2 sensors. All they do is tell the PCM about the efficiency of the cats. They give ZERO feedback for the tuning of the vehicle. Since we're running HFC's or no cats at all, they should be turned off in the tune. This is what throws the cat efficiency code when you run LT's and don't tune. Most just take the rear O2 sensors off and ziptie the pigtails up high.

Oh nice, I was worried that it would be an issue with throwing codes, I didn't even take into account the tune!

If you get a LT tune and the rear sensors are NOT turned off, get a new tuner.
