What do you guys think about putting the exhaust coming out before the back tires, out the side of the ground effects?

Do you mean sidepipes? I'd LOVE to do this almost more than anything on this car. However, I'm not sure it's going to be practical if you plan on running mufflers. The reason is, I believe the fuel tank is right in front of the rear suspension assembly so you'd be running your pipes right next to a plastic (composite) fuel tank :( If someone can get it to work, I'd be all for it, but like I said, I don't think it would be practical...

yeah sidepipes. You might be able to fabricate a little heat shield out of sheet metal just to go between the pipe and the fuel tank?

are you talking true side pipes that run the whole way down the side of the car dumping in front of the tires or just a side exit exhaust that just has the tips sticking out like the mustangs have on some of thiers?

Since I said side pipes, I should clarify - I'm thinking what you typed. I want more side exit like on Roushs

I suppose you could fab' up some heat shields but you still loose ground clearance. You could find some flat pipe like they use in NASCAR (boomtubes?) so that may be an option. The more I think about it, one could possilby either keep the little resonators and just run the pipe out the sides... Hmm... Replace the resonators with some bullets (like they do with the Borla-mouth and such) and POW, there ya' go.

I am talking about just side exits. i plan on cutting out the cats and resonators, throwing headers on and some after market mufflers, and dumping them out by the rear wheels. Who knows if there will be room to move the mufflers back that far or not.

I think that would look ok i guess but i def think it would be more worth it (if you could solve that little gas tank issue) to have side pipes, like that shit running down the whole side of the car like old sting rays. Well maybe that wasnt an option I'm not really sure but my sister has an old sting ray with the side pips and its badass.

I hear ya' but after looking at a 'chop, I didn't really like it. Maybe it would've been more appealing if the chop had molding rocker molding instead of the style you're think of, but sidepipes ARE bad@$$

Might be doable for a show car if you like ran them where the back seats are and take those out for a speaker box / heatshielding etc. Still I think the factory design is good looking and safe.

Sice exhaust would be sooo tight on a 2010! But i don't think I would put it on mine tho

Yeah the plan for mine was to run them out custom rocket panels. I hope there is a way, just have to wait and see i suppose.
