I am trading mine also but will leave the ZL1 pure stock. Why mod a ZL1? It's just perfect the way God made it!

I did the same thing. I wanted to wait but I ordered my car before production becasue I thought they may stop it due to economic/bailout/cafe/bankruptcy purposes. Paranoid till I got my car. |

10 sec car...No chance. To many people think it takes nothing to have a 10 second car. If so, then why are ther 50 or so cars that make 600+ rwhp and what, maybe 8 have made 10 second passes. You'll prob end up with a low 11 second car which is pretty good for just the few things you mentioned about changing. But 10 second's...Thanks for my Sat am laugh.

So you figure the ZL1 stock maybe a tenth or two faster stock and you're still upper 11s. Add a few bolt ons and mid 11s with an occasional low 11 on DRs. 10s? No way. Even if you pulley down and tune. Again, at this point those extra tenths of a second are harder and harder to overcome. We're talking about a car (ZL1) that will probably not make it to 500 rwhp at the wheels and still has a lot of weight to it which will average upper 11s and low 12s. It will take more than just a pulley swap and tune to overcome what will be .7 ish at that point. But we can talk paper numbers all day long. Until we get some numbers it doesnt' matter. |

Which will be faster? The auto or stick? Depends on who's driving it?

..I just had a thought, how about if they offered a special limited edition ZL1 with a LS9. The '69 ZL1 had the most technologicaly developed engine of it's day with the corresponding price tag. This creation should have the same as well. Wouldn't that be something. We have debated this all the ballpark before with adding a LS7 or LS9 as an option, but in a tribute package fitting it's lineage and legacy it would be the most impressive monolith one could come up for the beast. It's all about an exclusive offer with a much higher capacity for additional horsepower beyond what those other four letter word guys are going to put out next year. Beyond the reach of most in price...but priceless to others. I can only imagine how that could escalate the megaton horsepower race.
