Thanks guys, definitely couldn't of done it without everyone's help. I will end up summarizing my entire trip down this rabbit hole when I get some time. Words cannot describe the monster that lives under the hood now.

litle88 - I will definitely get some more videos and pics up bud, she is a little dirty right now from sitting so long and I will charge up the go pros and get some driving shots with it.

LS3 - Just say the word and we can meet up somewhere.

I will probably post all the random other pictures I took of the engine on here so whoever needs to look at something can just check the pictures out, maybe it will help someone else.

My recommendation for anyone that is reading this thread and going by the DIY LS3 cam install (and by no way in he$$ am I saying he was wrong) but I would wait to install the oil pump until the rockers are on and torqued to the recommended setting, this way you can still see the timing marks on the crank shaft and cam gear. Just a thought.

Also, the thing that bothered me the most about this install was the damn battery cable tray lol.

One more thing, if anyone has a link or knows where I can find some good directions on removing the heads, that would be greatly appreciated.

Can you not see past the oil pump with a small light to see the cam marks? reason I ask is I am doing a LS9 cam and not removing pump or springs.

I couldn't see it with the new dampner in there. With the original damper I believe that you could see it.

Lol nah don't be nervous, biggest thing to take away is make sure the marks line up and just because there is some play in the crank don't over think it and move the cam a degree or two like I did lol.

What are you doing Friday evening? I may be able to swing out there, and I think the weather should be pretty decent. Nothing like two H/C Camaros rolling around the 757 lol.

Thanks for sharing your experience! The ups and downs in this thread made for great reading and passing time at work while gaining so much quality info on what to do and not do...congrats on creating such a nasty N/A beast! Now you need some skinnys up front and fattys in the rear. Love to see what she does in the 1/4.
