Ok. Taking a break to update. I see Chris has been. My fingers are frozen.

Checked my splices in the wires. Not it.

Plugged the boost guage barb. Not it.

Checked the collant levels. Haven't lost a single drop.

MAF sensor is correct.

All hoses are correct.

Everything is plugged in, zipped up, nailed down, etc..............

I'm stumped.

Fuel pressure would idle the car at least. So I don't think it's that.

Maybe the tune just isn't liking my headers and exhaust and CAI???

I inspected the gaskets thouroughly and torqued everything down to spec.

So what are we down to? Tune?

Does he have a way to watch the afr? I would not drive it without the correct tune in it. Is there a way for magnuson to verify that you have the correct tune?

Randy emailed the tune to Maggie and they said it was the right one....

But who knows at this point.... when he revs the motor a bit like to 1200 rpms it seems to run fine but still a bit smoky...

At idle it sounds like it's trying to die. and smoky

could the ecm have "learned" the open boost port? sort of like when the ecm throws a code for an untightened gas cap....it takes 3 0r 4 start cycles to clear it....or like the low octane learning curve????

I'll have to do it tomorrow. Too late now. I gotta get a stem and a gauge.

I'm just gonna start it and let it idle. Just to see if there is any change. Not sure why. Honestly, the tune on it now I wouldn't feel comfortable driving on.

Tim also says it's fine to start. but don't make any boost.

yeah I'm with ya on the FP... I'd just like to rule that out at some point.

Are you running an oil catch can and crankcase vent? or did you forget to hook up the crankcase air intake from your CAI back up to the Passenger side just above the oil filler cap? If you are running a Crank Vent you must cap the line from the CAI to the passenger side and only use the vent.
Then it is not uncommon to have more air than maf told computer you were getting. When the o2 sensors realize the difference it adjust the fuel at idle to compensate. I actually could not keep mine running in this situation. ended up adding 18 percent more fuel at Idle to balance everything out. The computer is going to adjust to best stoich burn. All this happened before long and short trims even kicked in. Idle would be all over the place at start up and if it finally kept running if i gave it a little stab it would want to stall out. Pretty easy fix but you will need it on a tuner.

We've went over it multiple time ... based on the pics I've seen (not that I'm an expert) he's got it right. No catch can or breather...

Which brings us back to tune...

Hmmmmmm. Yeah its got to be in the tune somewhere. But I would really hesitate going back to stock tune as it would be way off on fuel settings. what tune does he have in it now?
