MD insurance laws for project cars

In MD, if I were to buy a car I was not going to drive but restore/repair. Would I need to insure it if I do not tag it being on my own property or garage?

You would not need ins. if not tagged, unless you have a lien on it. Then your bank would require it. You can't leave it on the street or public property. Some areas it must be covered or in a garage, but most of the time they won't bother you unless someone complains.

However make sure your Home owners Insurance co. knows about the project if your doing it in the garage or a building on your property. If you have a fire, flood etc. You will be totally at a loss on the project if they dont know about it.

I have a 69 Camaro I am restoring and was told it would not be covered under my home owners policy. I bought a policy from Hagerty with and agreed value of $30,000 for $220 a year. Just find out what your insurance company says and go from there....

I'd be curious to find out what Ins co. you have and also see the law in your state. I know in Md depending how you set your policy up it's all covered up to a certain amount.

Yeah definitely just give your homeowners and auto insurance companies a quick call just to ask. Regardless of state law, they may have their own internal policies that supersede local laws just to keep you covered in all counts. Should only take a couple minutes to verify but it doesn't look like any info already provided here would be wrong.

Pipe is your car wrapped or something? Can't get a read on that color but looks incredible.
