PLEASE HELP...ANYONE WITH GM PULL

My dealer has had my car since Monday with the power steering out since Friday. He tells me that the Power Steer Gear is out and not the Pump but the problem is that nowhere in the GM parts warehouses do they have this part. He cant even locate where to find one. He told me that He put a STAT rush on finding this part (whatever that means) and that it had to go through all the chanels before he would know anything. What kind of crap is that??? I thought that this motor (L99)was already in use? Shouldn't there be some parts out there somewhere? How can they release a car and have no parts available for it? Is there anyone that works for GM that could possibly help me? PLease? He said it could take up to a month before I could get my car back. Thats crazy. I only had it for one week before it messed up and now its gonna be gone for up to another month? It was already in Area 51 for over a month and now this. Please anybody wth access could you help me find this part? The actual GM part number is #92233478 and its the Power Steering Gear. Thanks in advance for any help that you could offer or even advice.

Do you work for them? I tried e-mailing them to see if they actaully had the part on hand because I also found it on another site but it was a special order item that was backordered.

No, sorry I don't work for them. I take it you haven't heard back from them yet?

Paul

no still nothing yet. But would my GM dealer have better access to these parts before this company or is actually part of GM?

The dealer has to go through the normal channels to get replacement parts for warranty. GMpartsdirect probably shows it but doesn't really have it. I just checked GM's system and there is no stock in GM's supply chain and there has only been one dealer that has gotten one that shows up on the part locator. Some dealer in Mississippi. Make sure your dealer orders the part as a SPAC case. Could take a few weeks. Sorry

Be sure they provide a free rental car. That will light a fire under them too.

If your car is out a month or longer, also hit them up for your car payment. Hopefully it hasn't changed since the bankruptcy, but when I was having problems with my wife's Acadia, GM made two months worth of car payments.

The dealer orders the part and has to reference the vin nimber and it helps expedite the order if there is no stock available.
