What is the difference between the 1SS and 2SS packages?

Appreciate it and thanks in advance!

The most important difference I've read about is the 6 speed manual transmission and the LS3 engine in the 2SS compared to the Automatic transmission and the L99 engine on the 1SS. The LS3 produces 426 horsepower and the L99 produces 400. I purchased the 2SS because I enjoy the Manual Transmission.

You can also get the 2SS with the L99 Auto (I have one) & I believe you can get a 1SS manual with the LS3. The only difference between the 1SS & 2SS are comfort/luxury & cosmetic options

I walked into the dealer and said... "I want a V8 Camaro, nothing more, nothing less."
I ended purchasing a 1SS with the optional NPP exhaust and a backup camera. (a must have).
Everything else is standard 1SS package.

OK - another question:

My 2SS/RS has red SS emblems. From what I've read here in the forum, only the RS options SS's have red emblems. So there is such a thing as a 2SS without the RS option? Would those have the white SS emblems?
Yep

Dude, you are way jacked up on this. The 1SS and 2SS has nothing to do with engine / trans combo but rather has everything to do with technology and gadgets.

A lot of 1LE folks have 1SS cars and none, and I mean not even one of them is an L99 automatic.

I went into the dealer and told him all I wanted was the synergy green in an LS3--And I didnt even care if it had rollup windows and No air.
I got a 1SS LS3/Non RS No back up camera. No Nothin'--All I cared about was the engine/tranny and the color.

1LE's were not available with an Automatic same as the Z/28.

Most Camaro's made seem to be 2SS as they have everything already in them and those who bought 5th Gens new preferred that, and common sense is to buy a 2SS over a 1SS because all of the creature comforts are already there rather than having to be added. Others prefer the 1SS trim because they prefer the car to be basic in trim but built for performance.

1SS is for people on a budget with their priorities straight. V8 is all that matters.

I agree and disagree with you.

I bought my 1SS knowing that I didn't want all the extra things.
As my farther always told me, the more there is, there more there is to brake.

And I would have to agree with the resale part, a 2SS will be easier to sell with all the bells and whistles as apposed to my striped 1SS.
