IKEA run and road trip with my 2010 Camaro - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

For all of you considering a 2010 Camaro but the `WAF`factor is keeping it out of your driveway... (Wife Acceptance Factor) Take a look at these photos. They are not the first that I have posted of my adventures in shopping, I have posted my Costco `full Christmas shopping cart`packing adventures before, but here is our IKEA trip today where we bought a bunch of stuff including a large Armoire and many additionals. It`s a very large and long car, but the hatch is rather smallish. Both of these long and heavy boxes fit through the hatch and with the seats folded down, it was quite easy to get it all in.

Also, take a look at our road trip pictures, I loaded two adults, two kids (10 and 6) and the Chihuahua into the car with 2 big duffle bags, 4 sleeping bags, a soft cooler for food, ice and beer (got my priorities straight) with several other bags and all fit fine. We averaged 8-9 liters per 100 KM`s (about 28-29 MPG) with a FULL load. I did almost 750 KM`s on one tank, rather impressive without even a trouble at all.

To all the wives out there, it`s a very functional sports coupe! Much better than my 75 Camaro, that had a tiny, odd shaped trunk.

Awesome! I think it is great that you use your car for shopping and for trips. Most of us wouldn't (I do)

Is that like a five pound bag of Caffe Verona? Someone likes Starbucks coffee. The Camaro is Great for road tripping and holds a lot more in the trunk than you would expect. However I don't think I will be subjecting mine to the IKEA experience.

Wow, way to provide the DIY pictures on how to pack a trunk to it's fullest capacity - many times over.. Impressive!!

It`s a car and I use it every day!

I just wanted to show people that indeed you can use it fully and it`s almost as functional as a sedan. It`s based on a full sized sedan to begin with, thus it`s quite large inside and in the trunk. It`s been rare that we need our Honda Fit for shopping trips, but now and then it`s needed for larger items.

Imagine how much less a Corvette can store for long trips? hehehe, different strokes...

Interesting. I've always operated under the assumption that you could fit 4-5 bodies, er duffel bags in the trunk. I may have to rethink my plans.

there is NO WAY in this world that all of that did fit in the camaro plus the kid your better halve and you NO WAY !

I wish I'd snapped photos of our trunk during power tour. Not only did we have 10 days of stuff for us, we had the spillover from our friend's Z06 as well! This includes a full armory of car cleaning supplies, luggage, freebies, chairs, camera equipment, laptop, cooler, etc., all packed around the ******** amp rack and speaker box! It's amazing how much STUFF these cars can hold!

Wow, I can almost picture that dude! It's awesome to feel "connected" to the engineers that put it all together for us in those moments of "need" when we indeed use all of the advantages that this fine automobile affords us.

Nice to hear you also had a similar experience.
