Seems to be pretty normal for me. Are your exhaust tips black as well? Might be running a bit rich. Any mods done to your car?

Mine produces a lot of soot also! The tips on my Silverado are white gray. I wonder how many others are running rich?

Perhaps those you've owned are running "right" or a little lean? It's no big deal for black "soot" to be at the exhaust tips. I read someone had posted these engines run a little rich. I'd rather have them run rich than lean, which is bad for the valves.

PsyDoc, I think you are right, I have ran diagnostics and all seems to be correct. Thanks

Any time you look on these threads about people getting custom tunes, they pretty much all say that the stock tune runs rich. That doesn't help the sooty situation at all.

Mine ran rich when I got it also. I cleaned everything up and then put the Diablo 93 octane tune on the stock engine. I've only put a hundred miles or so since the tune so I don't know if it's helped. I'll report back when I know something.

Could it be from the tires, "tire dust"?
